No good......

Postby sir_crashalot » Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:00 pm

This afternoon I downloaded the beautiful POSKY 767 in Martinair livery. I took it for a short flight from Dakar, Senegal to Sal, Cap Verde. At least that is what I meant to do. This is what happened............................

Waiting at the runway for clearance
Image

At take-off I scraped the back end on the runway. Smoke is everywhere.
Image

I manage to turn the 767 back towards Dakar but that nosewheel sticking out worries me a bit.
Image

It's going the wrong way. I can't control it anymore. Nothing is reacting the way it should.
Image

At least I am very close to shore, so rescue will not take long.

I better practise some more with large jets.

Crash  :(

Maybe just a little too much rudder flap on your take off is to blame there. But I don't understand why the front gear got stuck in the down position.

When it comes to large aircrafts (depending on the type you are using), you should always fly them out of airports with runways that are adequate enough for them to get enough length. This allows the plane to gain enough airspeed to avoid those harsh lift offs!

Enjoy your next experience with knowledge! Like your safety sense though ! I would fly on your airliner any day!

I flew, in real life, many times to and from Dakar. Always with an Airbus 319 or 320. That might be a little smaller, but I saw plenty of 757 and 747 at Dakar Airport. Which isn't a very nice airport, but that's a different story.

But I will try again to get it in the air from Dakar, I won't give up.

Crash ;)

Did you fly as a passenger or as a pilot?
Nice sequence! And yes, nickname well deserved  :P

Silly question: is smoke a regular feature in FS2004 or do you need some add-on?

FridayChild: I flew as a passenger. (Not smart enough to become a pilot ;D) And the smoke is a FS kind of thing. It's not an add-on.

Crash ;)
