Shock Horror!

Postby xFLAMESx » Wed Feb 23, 2005 7:48 pm

I'm flying a default, GA aircraft ;D

So it's the year 2010, New York just had a cold snap with heavy snows, but luckily the skys cleared for me today (still -5c you know!) and I'm finally going for my PPL..........

Instructor - "Uh..........Carl.....What do you think you're doing?"
Me - "Sorry old chap, I couldn't see what fish that was!"

After returning to a 'normal' ::) flying style, a local news helicopter began buzzing me.
Here's an article in one of the local flying magazines..........

"The following images are copyright of Huxted Media Enterprises ;D, and are used with permission ;D"
"New pilot Carl Huxted was photographed today during his test flight in New York, here is a selection of our favorite images."

Hope you enjoyed.....

Now for one shot that'll remind why I don't a have a license.......... ;D

Cheers,

Carl

P.S - Sorry about the size and quality on the last Cessna shot, it was too heavy in 800x600 :(

P.P.S - I know the NWTC ones are all similar, this shoot was done quickly.

No. He's Gnatman. ;)

Nice shots, Carl. I don't like the new WTC... Nothing can replace the old one.. :(

Cute. I've seen behavior like that in the Hudson River VFR corridor (well, maybe not inverted). Did see a C130 almost go under the VZ bridge once (looked like he changed his mind at the last minute- settled for passing over the roadway at an alt. just under the tops of the support towers); wish I had a picture, and I'm sure they're glad I don't!
I DL'd that NWTC too... I'm not sure if I like that design yet, but it's nice to see something big in that spot, and looking at the old towers would creep me out.

My sentiments exactly, Manhattan is too bare without a tower, yet flying around the old WTC felt too weird.

Although nothing will ever be able to replace the twin towers, I think the new one is a fitting tribute to all who lost their lives and those who helped.
