Dutch Spitfire!

Postby Souichiro » Mon Feb 21, 2005 7:39 am

Hey everyone. These are shots of a very nice Spitfire. This is a fs version of the only spitfire flying in Holland now( hopefully that will change). She does't have clipped wings anymore. She is mostly known by the dutch crowd for her performance in the missing man formation during the burial ceremony Of his royal highness Prince Bernhard R.I.P. where she broke away into the clouds after a formation with three F-16's. The scenery is all nl2000 and the bases are: Gilze-Rijen,Twenthe and Soesterberg.  READ 2ND reply down below check the link

Great shots.
Where did you find that spit?

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.

There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you

surclaro.com ;D

By the way what I forgot to mention is that this Spit has an actual war history. She flew on D-Day and on that day she shot down a Ju-88 in total she has about 4 shotdowns on her name.

About the missing man formation. Look at the following link below (or copy it into your www searcher) for video footage af the happening also from the f-16 point of view. The images still give me goosebumps. (ignore the dutch in the beginning and wait for a moment for the footages to show.

The scenery is very interesting. Just look how the designers made some dense forests. If the FS-engine used that system (of 'forest-blocks'), plus the normal, single autogen trees we'd have a much more realistic world out there.

Yup it looks way better but the only problem is is that these forests are to look at only and that you cannot crash into them not that I want to but stil.....  What I really like are the planes and choppers on the bases that makes me go ;D
