The Lysander was a rugged little aircraft that was used heavily by the British SOE to deliver supplies and personel across the channel into occupied France. This involved flying to a map reference and then landing at night in a field guided only by small fires lit by the welcoming resistance fighters. Praying all the while that those waiting were not the Gestapo.
