Another Socata...the TB-20

Postby jordonj » Sat Jan 15, 2005 10:50 am

I heard about this one some time ago (Can't remember from whom)...

This is Socata TB-20 Trinidad.

The VC very good for a freeware plane...

The gear is retractable...

I found it on AVsim...

Now I have good news and bad news...

The bad news is that it shoots up like a rocket...till it stalls that is.  It is very twitchy and hard to control (the Vought Corsair is easier to fly!)

The good news is that I read of a payware one designed by Eric Dantes (who did the excellent freeware Twin Bonanza, and a Twotter with a great VC, among other things).

The article said that the TB-20 flies a lot like the Default 182 Skylane.

Sooo...I copied the following sections from the 182 into the aircraft.cfg for the TB-10 (replacing what was there):

[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]

and

[airplane_geometry] .

Next I copied the file Cessna182S.air into the Socata_TB20GT folder and renamed it TB20GT.air.

Now it flies great!

Really?  I crashed my FS by clicking on the fuel marker.  I'll take a look at that!

Well maybe that is what it was, but it is just to the left of the ADF, and DME, it says MKR, so I figured it was for the markers  ???

The fuel knob is on the throttle...I don't believe we're talking about the same thing...

Just checked it out......It freezes if I click on anything up there besides how it loads. If I click on Com2, Nav1, or 2, ADF, MKR, or DME they all freeze up FS. It also has icons for ICS, and AUX, which apparently they arent clickable, and one for SPK, and it makes it freeze up.  :(

Oh well if flies GREAT now....thanks for the info  ;D

This is strange...

I played around with the Radio and had no crashes happen when I switched frequencies, activated the MKR, NAV1, ADF, frequencies.  Nor did it crash when I switched from COM1 to COM2...

Did you download a FS2002 version by mistake maybe...?

There is another plane, the Valumet Vinka that has a similar issue (it's a 2002 plane)...

What does your [radio] section look like?
