Islamabad to Dubai (Emirates 777-200)

Postby Triple_7 » Wed Jan 12, 2005 3:42 pm

No school due to heavy fog (which cleared up not more then an hour after the call off ;D) left me with nothing to do.  So I packed up and made my way back to Dubai.

Taking off from OPRN.

Climbing into the early morning sky.  Its aprox. 3:30 AM.

Decending into Dubai.  In the distance is another flight on final.

The 777 on the runway should have been me.  On aproch that #@$% came screeming in under me and landed even though i was #1 and he was #2 >:(  This tends to happen a lot on my flights to Dubai.

One go around later we touch down.  Its about 5 AM and we are a little early.

Parked at the gate with 772 and 773 in the background.  Not sure what the tail belongs to.  I think it might be an A340-500.  Im now undecided as to my next destination.  I was planning for Kathmandu but after checking flights it wouldnt work out.  So now im in the proccess of checking.  It will probly be somewhere within a 4 hour flight time ;)

Hmmm...we get school cancelled due to snow or ice...but then if the fog is thick enough...

LOL...I was surprised to but didnt mind.  Couldnt see our own hands eather.  But right after they called off it cleared within an hour :P  They mainly did it because of what happened last year.  Our school is located on busy intersection.  4 way stop and not many problems.  But last spring we had a day similar to wed. fog and there was a pretty bad wreck where someone didnt even know there was a stop.  Hit one of my friends on the drivers side and they were goin about 35.  Totaled the car and she was in the hospital for over a week with neck and back injuries.  The board that is in charge of delays and cancelations got in some seriouse problems with upset parents.  It all could have been prevented had they delayed us that morning. :-/  Now they wont send us untill you can at least read the road signs.   Though they have sent us many times while the roads are solid ice.  Ive already been rear ended twice this winter :-/
