Carrier Qual!

Postby Rocket_Bird » Tue Jan 04, 2005 2:06 pm

Well im sure you guys are all familiar with this plane.  After recently getting back to some regular online flying in Jane's F-18 (which I might add, although being years old now, is still a great Super Hornet sim), and so happen to be bumping into some nice freeware addons, ive decided to to recreate some of the fun in FS2004 :)  All of this is freeware... as you all know, KBT's Super Hornet, plus 3Wire version 1.0, and this nice CVN-68 found somewhere on flightsim.com!  Anyways.

On cat... all checks complete, handing off!
Image

After flying for a while, im inbound on carrier.... since this is a Carrier Qual, ya gotta do this Top Gun style via flyby!
Image

Going to Marshal point!  Tail hook down, master arm off
Image

Rocket Bird is 3/4 of a mile, call the ball!  (yes I know the water isnt blending... perhaps I gotta switch to the standard water textures...  :()
Image

Coming to a screeching halt after catching the wire... full afterburner!!
Image

Home sweet home.

Cheers,
RB

On carrier landings I missed the boat. Great flying Rocket-Bird. Thanks for the pics and the links.

standard procedure is once you touch the deck you go full A/B incase you miss the cable and have to abort the landing.
Let T=Takeoffs
Let L=Landings
If T-L>1 print
