The name of this sim is "Strike Fighters"?

when did this come out? Where do you get it from (the internet, or a software store)

Still wish Microsoft would quit with the World War Combat flight simulatar games and come out with a game called "MODERN COMBAT Flight Simulator" with Fighter planes from 1980 - present date.

p.s.: "The Clap" ??? I know everyone is thinking the same thing  :-/!
Its only in your mind, strong mind, strong soul and nobody can take that from you!

Yes, the sim is called Strike Fighters: Project 1.
Don't remember exactly, but I think it came out sometime in 99.
And I bought it at a software store. EB Games to be exact.

The original Strike Fighters was put out of print sometime last year.
But both GMX (Europe) and Valuesoft (US) have re-released the games.

There's also a newer game based off the Strike Fighters game engine.
It's called Wings Over Vietnam, and is basicly the same game.
However; it's only available to US consumers (unless you buy online).

Quoi? That game was released at the end of '02, not in '99!

I've read about it in these forums... still a strange idea that the US could end up fighting its "own" models... Ah well...

They were just a small part of US military aid for Iran during the Iran/Iraq war.

Like said, I don't remember. I just looked at the copyright dates.

I'm pretty sure the Iranians bought the Tomcats in the late 70's.
And the Iran-Iraq war was fought during the 80's.
Also, didn't Iran have an arms trade embargo on it during the 80's,
which would have made this "aid" illegal?

From 1980 on, if I remember correctly.

Hm,you may be right. Then the military aid was for Saddam...

Trade embargo... money buys anything embargo or not.

and there is the big possibility that the IRIAF F-14s were retrofitted with french and russian electronics... they are even getting glass cockpit upgrades now.
