JetStalker! (1st fs9 pics!)

Postby PlutonianEmpire » Wed Dec 29, 2004 8:04 am

Ok.

I got "simple ai" and created a md-83 flight from KPNM to KDEN. Naturally, the AI jet overshot the 3900 foot runway when taking off (I fared much better because I had full flaps and "unlimited fuel" turned on).

The intent behind this was because was interested in fs9' calculation for the time and distance for the trip. Very quickly, the ai flew out of sight, but I had the labels turned on so It was relatively easy to track it.

However, it took an eternity to finally get close to the plane.

Image
I downloaded the cloudfix to help the frame rate, as well as disabling the Autogen and keeping it at 800x600 resolution. As you can see, my plane was an a320, my preferred form of travel for subsonic speeds, as well as for landing at KPNM. I don't use realworld weather because of bad spyware/adware problems every time I hook to the internet. :(

Image
This is perhaps the closest I got to the plane.

Image
The view from the cockpit.

Image
Jetstalking to the max! Unfortunately, the simulator crashed just as I was trying to land, swerving left and right (I usually don't swerve, unless the fps gets crappy), trying to recover from a stall. FS9 crashed once before. (fs9 keeps crashing because I only have 256 megs of ram, rather than 512.)

Not bad for my 1st fs9 story. ;D

GREAT pics, but too heavy for the forum...You need to get the size down or the mods may delete them  :(

Several are over 6x what is allowed on the forum

Even though I'm using a different website to host my images?

(I fixed it. They're all in jpeg. God, I hate jpegging; they destroy excellent-looking images. :( )

Nice shots, especially #2

Only one tip. Close the ATC window when taking a screenshot.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.

There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you

You should download Ad-Aware SE (here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Spybot Search & Destroy (here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html) and try to get rid of that crap. I use both of those programs and confirm that they are safe and effective. Give it a try, what do you have to loose?

That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they

I use XoftSpy which isnt freeware like the AdAware and Spybot, but it works great, and I also had a trial version at one time of Webroots SpySweeper which is good too, but more expensive than XoftSpy... :o

First off, nice story and pics- I've always liked the old Northwest livery!

Even though I'm using a different website to host my images?

I believe there is a rule that if you display the shots as images as opposed to linking to them, they must be uploaded to the SimV forum images server.... Upload Images
I seem to remember this from somewhere.  So just use SimV to show your shots at 800x600 and less than 100K per shot.

Don't get discouraged about that RAM, I as well only have 256, and my frames run about 30 with 50% traffic and 800x600x16.  My settings are also set to medium, so i get what i need.  BTW, nice shots, I know it isn't all that easy to get right up close to a jet like that, even through slew mode it's difficult.

I tried adaware, but it did not do any good at all. It is the the "undeletable" kind of spyware I'm dealing with.
