Where is my engine???

Postby Nitro » Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:47 pm

I was fighting against a Japanese fighter and I got shot up pretty bad

The only thing I could do was to open the canopy...

...and bail out

I was rescued by a submarine and can fight an other day.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and, whatever you hit, call it the target.

You turned that Wildcat (is that the plane) into a Glider! ;D

Neat shots!

It is not a Wildcat, it's a Hellcat.

And about that submarine, I don't know where it came from but it picked me up and brought me home.

i've got to ask, does losing your nose affect the flyability of the plane in the sim? obviously in real life you'd have a rather different COG after dropping the engine  ;)

Thats happened to me a few times. And considering the height at which I fight, it always pays to have the canopy open. Means you have one less thing to worry about when you need to bail out. And hence you get out quicker at a lower altitude. Hoorah! ;D

Don't know that plane too well, but I find it hard to believe it wouldn't want to drop its tail right away and maybe roll over after losing all that mass forward of the CG... but why wait to find out when you have a parachute?

LOL I've done the same thing before fighting on the Zoned.
It's kinda surprising your airspeed starts falling like a rock. So you hit F4 couple times and*OHHH*

Nice screen shots though by the way.
