Tokyo to Atlanta (Delta 777-200)

Postby Triple_7 » Fri Nov 12, 2004 9:31 pm

I'm definatly feeling tired after this one :P

Tis a beautiful sunset as we prepare to start the engines... The passengers are settling in for the 12 hour flight to Atlanta, though some are a little worried about taking off into the storm that is brewing overhead.

Aprox, 16:40 as we begin to get airborn.

Climbing out with some heavy turbulence.  Hopefully things smooth out once we get above the storm.

Leveled off at 35,000 feet and supper is being served.  The turbulence has slightly smoothed out though we now have a 60 knot tail wind.  Everyone is pretty much settled in and glad to be out of the storm.

Finaly making our decent.  Its been a long flight and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is ready to get the hell off this plane.  Luckly the tail wind stayed with us for most of the flight and we are coming in a 1/2 hour early.

A spotter managed to grab this shot as we neared the runway.

Puffs of smoke mark the end of a 11.5 hour flight that seemed like it would never end.  Even getting some sleep during the flight didnt make it go any faster :P

Glad to be back on terra firma.  Its 14:05 and I am definatly off to a hotel for the rest of the day and night.  Insted of flying to Fort Wayne like I had origionaly planed I couldn't help but decide on one of the several daily flights to Indianapolis on a Delta 737-200.  It means a little extra drive home but it may be one of the few chances left to fly one of these birds before they are put out of service.

Thanks... ;D

I didnt really bounce on landing I just came in a little hot and heavy:-[  But the angle of the shot makes a big contrast to the acual landing which was almost right down the center ;)

As for being better then the real pics I wouldnt go that far :P  But my shots are finaly getting a bit clearer.  Though I have not had the chance to see any of my pics on different computers...They look a bit fuzzy to me but everything on my monitor does so I have no clue as to their true quality ???

They're a bit fuzzy on my end too, probably a setting issue.

Wow...I see someones been digging into the past.  Last thing i expected to see pop up again ;)

I'm trying to think back as to what i would have been holding on the fps.  Those were taken while i was still running windows 98...now running XP.  I do believe once in the air i held a good 25 fps except for a minor drop while flying through the clouds.  On ground depened on night or day.  Evening was probly around 15 fps and daytime in atlanta was about 18.  depending on my view though.   looking towards buildings drops to more like 12 in KATL.   But now with XP things run a tad smoother.  I get a good 20 to 22 fps on ground 15 with moderate AI trafic i use.  i personaly define each route using a program called Y-Route. so i dont have the heavy overload some packages contain and they are with FSP models that are more detailed AI.  Though before the upgrade to xp AI was mildly out of the question...i would only get fps of 7 to 8 :'(

Most of the aircraft i fly are all modified FSP AI models.  They fly great and are very detailed...even have flexing wings.  I only modify the ones i use for accual flights to be more realistic handling.  AI i leave to the default and remove the panels and such to make them a little better on the FPS.  After this flight to atlanta there should be another thread hiding not far in front of this one where i ended up flying to Gatwick.

Now this evening with computer running fine again i will be on my way from Gatwick to Dubai on an Emirates 777-300.  Look for the screenies most likely posted tommarrow ;)

LoL...And yes these are with the 128.  Much difference from the old 64 i ran for nearly a year ;)  My speed problems have to do with the accual computer having some problems and a couple faulty parts.  They are slowly geting fixed and replaced, so hopefully it will be to full power within a couple months ;)
