OH NO! NOT AGAAAAAAAAAAINNN!!!

I'm starting to get the hang of this Boeing 727, I really like it.

It's giving me the opportunity to brush up on my IFR flying, which I've neglected for a long time now.

As some of you have seen, I'm captaining this Singapore Airlines 727 from Darwin to Singapore, then Hong Kong (first pic) and on to Beijing (last pic).



My next leg will be from Beijing across Tibet to Calcutta, because I survived........... but the landing was ... errr.... a little heavy.

This pic shows all the numbers correct on the approach and things are looking good right? .......




Except for those pesky engine gauges, (you can't hear the engines in the B727 cockpit), that's right folks.......

OUT OF FUEL....... again.

Well, if anyone has any hints, let me know please  :)

The estimated fuel burn for this trip was around 14,700 lbs.

I loaded around 31,300 lbs just to be safe  ;D  as I have had a couple of incidents in the 727.

I figured a very high cruise altitude was fine as it was around 1300 miles I think, so I did a step climb to 40,000 ft ,   thel burn gauges looked really good.

It seems like the latter half of my flights in the 727 is where the problem lies, the fuel just seems to evaporate.

32000 would be appropriate for my A330, by going at fl40 it would cause the engine to over work for nothing. at that level the engine needed to push harder to keep a decent air speed.

It is strange that it used up that much fuel. since after all it is a 727. try the same flight with airbus a320 or 330. see if it use that much fuel. also keep an eye on the wind. latetly i have found many day where i had a front wind of 135nm/h. FS show 99 but if i look in FSNAV i see the true wind speed at 135.

last night i was fighting wind change 3 time in 800nm flight. I was flying in west of canada. at one point the wind was in my back and my air speed drop to 140nm/h. the engine was at max.

I almost had to fly back and cancel the flight... for security reason. but as I reach the montain the wind started to break a little.

since the begining of winter weather is very weird...

There's no way the 727 has a service ceiling of even close to 400.  How'd you calculate expected fuel?  Please don't tell me the fs planner  ;D.
