I find some irony here, too.  Titanic's later sister ship Britannic was painted the same colors. Serving as a hospital ship, she was painted white with large green hull stripes and three large Red Cross symbols.

Sadly, she met the same fate of Titanic, striking a mine in the Aegean Sea off of the coast of the Greek Island of Kea nearly a year into service.
