An Classic!

Postby GunnerMan » Sat Dec 04, 2004 2:07 pm

Well I was at KSAF again and decided to go into the mountains...

Taking Off From KSAF....on that fateful morning, it was a clear day with light wind a perfect day to fly...

Head for the mountains... the seem to draw me like a magnet to metal....

Looking out the tinny side window as the panel is to large to really see out the fron in a climb.... the terrain is so peaceful...

A look at the Vega, a rather large bird with the low drone of that large radial engine...

My final destination awaits me on the other side of those hills, some slight cumulous clouds but nothing to fear...

On approach I hit a tree with my tail and my elevators and rudder was rendered useless, but it was ok I was able to use the power to cause lift and decent so I figured I could put her down safe an sound but when I touched down the tail seemed to just fall off, I guess the tree did more to it then I though well here is the end result.... no one lived :'(...

Well a good example how a good day can quickly get very nasty ;)
