Curious...what does it mean over there (here it means something like "idiot")...

This is a definition I've found...

Webster's Dictionary

1.) a descendant of Ham represented in the Old Testament book of  Genesis as a mighty hunter and a king of Shinar

2.) hunter

Curiously the BAE Systems (yeah, we all know it's Hawker Siddeley really) Nimrod's nickname if RAF service is "The Mighty Hunter"...

I think it's something Nimrod crews get a ribbing for whenever they're in the states...

The good news is RAF pilots have actually got their hands on it already, and are doing quite a bit of the development flying. I don't think even this government is going to be stupid enough to cancel it. It would kill what little of a defense industry we have left...

Hopefully I can catch a lift up to see go and have a peek in the near future...

i beleive ones flying and my dad and his team are now working on the 2nd(maybe third) for its first taxi run in a couple of weeks. Only problem is it means weekend work. One of the Nimrod is having problems and they want to fly it back to Woodford, only problem is thats not an easy task. Your right on the fact they probably wont cancel it, it'll just have to wait till the next cash injection ::)

Ya, the MOD would rather pay for sex changes for the higher equelons these days. Seems that a couple of burly Squadron Leaders decided that Angels20 meant something else. Maybe it's them that's the Nimrods?

It not that bad. It would just be easier if the government gave us a decent defense budget.

Only problem is it means weekend work.

Well, we all have to do it sometime... ::)
