Jack, we're Flying!

Postby CaptainCub » Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:17 pm

;D

Hello all, just to show I also like to paint and fly big planes too, here are my three latest birds. The scheme was inspired by the house pennant of the White Star line, owners of the Titanic. I got the idea after listening to a CD of the soundtrack to RAISE THE TITANIC!  The opening music reminded me of those old airport disaster films with the opening credits rolling as you saw the airport, the jetliner with the crew doing pre checks and so on.. That lead me to think of James Cameron's TITANIC done as one of those with Jack as a starving artist back in coach, and Rose up front in first class...  Anyway the first bird I did was the 747:

Next we needed a short haul jet, so I did the 737 in the Whitestar scheme:

Finally, for the cross country service, you have the Triple Seven:

So what do you all think?

Not too bad, almost a little basic, perhaps a oinstripe or someting up in that red paint? ;-)

There's the gold stripe seperating the red from the white. I did have the windows inside a white band on the first try, but I didn't like it so I went with what you see here.

You could paint the red part of the fuselage black, below that marine antifoul red, and the "hump" white with a yellow stripe inbetween the white and black.

Oh, and you'd have to paint the stabilizer tan (or more accurately - Titanic Funnel Yellow - a mix of tan and yellow, with a black tip.

Don't gorget the White Star Line pennant on the stabilizer! ;)

(I used to be a member of the Titanic Historical Society several years ago, and I have a 1:350 scale model of the ship.)

Probably goes too fast for Jack and Rose to stand and feel the wind in their hair...

So that means Carnaval is the operator of the ship right?  Where did you get your information?
