My stomping ground actually. I know the whole coast intimately by sea.

Actually, it wasn't Cook's charts that are still in use, but Matthew Flinder's work instead. He was the real hero of charting these waters.

Cook freaked out when he realised he'd been sailing behind a reef for a thousand miles and got the heck out of there.  8)  (but not before wrecking his ship on the reef!)

There is an excellent series of coastal scenery for Queensland for FS9 available. I think it's mesh, textures and landclass files. It really brings it to life.
