A Dauntless beauty!

Postby jordonj » Sun Nov 21, 2004 2:44 pm

I found this on AVSIM.  It's from the same genius who brought us the Learfan, the Fairchild 24R, and the Moni Motorgliders:  William Ortis!

I present: The Dauntless!!

You want a VC?  You got it!  It has a Virtual Cabin too for that matter!

Image

You want a shallow pitch for takeoff...

Image

...but that tailfin under the belly is not just for show!  It's meant to protect against tailstrikes!

Image

Not only does it have 2 different liveries, it also has 2 different models with regards to the tail prop!

Image

And the cabin matches the liveries (that PC Pilot shows beats the usual reading material you find on planes)!

Image

You want night lighting?  You got it!

Image

Image

You can even dim the domelight by turning off the Landing Light!

Image

What are you waiting for?!

Very Nice jordonj...very nice :)

Would really like to see a close up of the rear engine and prop on that one.
It almost looks like two counter rotating props.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Is there one for FS9?

I just did a search for one...the only one I could find was some donationware for FS2000...

He's talking about the WWII plane, not the subject of this post...Silent But Deadly Dauntless....

Silent But Deadly Dauntless....

No, not silent, far from it! It had a noisy 1,350-hp Wright R-1820-66 Cyclone radial! I've heard it referred to as "slow but deadly" but SBD really stood for "scout bomber Douglas".

No need to apologise, I'm a Dauntless fan ;D. I can't help but try to advance your knowledge on the SBD ;)
