I began planning the flight at 8:00 AM or so...after checking the weather, I decided our destination would be Craven Co. Municipal (KEWN).
Doing my checks...I was a bit nervous since it had dipped to 39* last night...water takeoffs and cold weather are a bad mix!

Taxiing to Runway South Water...

No signs of ice...tank gott...but the weather could stand to be a bit clearer. Especially I had overestimated the range of VOR CCV...fortunately, I picked it up not too long after passing NDB CGE...

The weather did clear for a bit...

But not for long! I was passing between KNGU and KORF. I don't know how I got approval to transition Class D Airspace. I thought for sure it would be IFR...but hey...never question good fortune!

Crossing from Virgina to North Carolina. I like James Taylor...

But if Dee Dee makes me play Going To Carolina one more FSCHKING TIME!!!

I switched to Dire Straits...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
About 2 miles out, I radioed KEWN tower to land. They directed me to land Runway 4. A perfect approach...

And as always...a spotter taking shots of landing planes!

I pulled up next to a Cherokee...

And of course, I endured snickers of my plane (nice luggage rack...do you know your propeller is backwards...etc. etc.) Let them laugh...my turn will come when they try to land their Cherokee or Fancy-schmancy Bonanza on a body of water!
Afterwards, we went to Andy's Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers...Dee and Russel ate so much that we would almost certainly be over gross weight if we tried to move on tonight (plus cleaning cheesesteak-in-puke is a drag) :-/
