my first guess is that is a general aviation parking Zone and you are making your approach to the zone inproperly!

Well, recently at Philly, a 767 (i think) DID run over a vehice going across the taxiway, injuring the guy inside... this could be becoming a trend... get ready to ride your brakes A LOT ;)
