Wondering...

Postby Jakemaster » Mon Nov 08, 2004 10:15 pm

I have just recently set out on an adventure of my own.  It is different, because it is in a SAILPLANE!! I am gliding cross country in a schweizer from the soaring club of houston to oshkosh. I didn't plan on posting picks, but with the seemingly never ending outpour of adventures, i just might.  I just wanted to know is anyone would like shots and stories of my adventure before I do spend the time to do it.

Sounds cool, clearly not much of us around here really use that old sailplane sitting in the hangar.  Go for it!

Gliders rock! I post pics of gliders everynow and then.  I dont like the default glider though, it has very poor performance.  My favourite glider is my ASW28, its awsome for X-country.  I converted the FS2002 one so it works in FS2004.  Wolfgang Peter also does some excellent addon gliders for FS2004.

Have you got addon scenery for thermalling? Good luck on your journey.

The Moni Motergliders and the Diamond Gliders come to mind!

I'd love to see your work...I just don't like that particular one because you have to slew it to get it in the air! :P

Well, after two legs with the schweizer, I've decided to swtich and use the Stemme.  So I will begin to post picks.

My plan is to fly the stemme to my intended target, and a 2000 feet above the airport, shut off the engine and glide to a normal glider landing.

Yup I use IrFanview to take my screenies too.  It can also be used to re-size and is free.

There are better progs to re-size with though but they are payware.  I use ACDsee now but used to use PSP7 which was alright too.

With most of these programs you can choose how much compression you want when you save the image too! When you hit Save As and select Jpeg as file type you usually get an Options button in the Save box.  Click on it and you can adjust the amount of compression usually.

Just remember to keep file sizes under 100kb  ;D
