I just tried it in an F-16 and reached 3,622kias while going down, when I came to the bottom it reversed direction and went up to the 100,000ft limit at the same speed :o

I have the patch as well, good thing I never fly in that area because if I did it would bug me to see that spire sticking up above the clouds.

I think this "thing" is quite cool...it seems a bit scary to me, like if an unknown species had planted it there, and only looking at it makes you lose your soul a little...any suggestions for a name? (the unmentionable) :o

I had that same feeling as well when flying up to it. Almost like aliens had landed.

From what I know, the Wright Flyer during that historic flight, should never have gotten off the ground.  The brothers were extremely lucky or something...

Replicas were built and unsuccessful.  Of course, flying was never the mystery, it was controlling it that was the problem to be solved...
