Alaskan Pig Adventure

Postby Fly2e » Fri Nov 05, 2004 10:02 am

Well I needed to get this Fairchild C82 out of Manitoba before the sun set. Martha was cooking her famous moose tonight and I did not want to miss it! The weather report was calling for a blizzard so I needed to move and move now! Here is the pig I will be flying tonight. She is a trustworthy hunk of metal I purchased in the early 70's and she's been all over this bush country!

Everything is looking good, the throttles are feathered, the flaps are set and the pilot heat is on high as she rolls to the take off position.

Thats what they did on the Flight of the Pheonix.... or is that another airplane? Been a LONG time since I watched that classic with Jimmy Stewart.
