CV-580 repaint

Postby Plurb » Fri Oct 29, 2004 9:30 pm

Nervous about posting these. This is my first effort at repainting. I did these for my own virtual air charter. I've done two different versions. Would like some sincere feedback. I think i did a good job of capturing the look of polished aluminum.

WOW! You must have studied online- tutorials for a long time, MY first repaint looked A LITTLE BIT different and to be true: just ugly!(it took me long time to figure out how to use the alpha- channel) :o

but, you want my opinion: Change the font! really! I don

I understand and agree with your pont re: the font. I was shooting for an elegant type of lettering. When I worked for a promenent Beechcraft dealer their planes came thru on a regular basis. Don't remember the co. name of the air charter company but I remember the elegance of the similar lettering on the planes. It was distinctive and had a classy look to it. It made a big impresson on me. Anyway...hmmmm. Let me think on this a while. ;D

Thanks for all the feedback!! Took a while to get back-working the bugs out of the panel. Got com2 to work, installing GPS, and getting the A/P to allow the heading bug to be reset. Plus added somethings to the panel.

And flying.

See what you think of these. One of the reasons I like the 580 is it's the bird that carried me off to do my part for Uncle Sam.

They are great for a first repaint!

I would personally still maybe alter the positioning of the 'Capital Air Charter'

I would move it closer to the Striping and move it forward so it starts just bhind the main door.   Just somthing I would do but other than that it looks great.  The second paint is my favourite outta these two.  I would also prob put tha tail number on the fuselage and try to design a logo for the fin or leave it blank.
