Terrible first screenshots-flying too

Postby Fli-girl » Wed Sep 22, 2004 2:19 pm

Well I tried.  my dad helped me with the up loading thingie and he showed me how to use his photo shop to make them the right size I'm supposed to use on here.  I kept trying but they wouldnt show up in the preview but he helped me with the little image insert button thing.  He's a retired navy pilot who flew jets he calls hornets in the first gulf war when I was just 6.  He bought me this game because he would like me to learn to fly and get my pilots license.  But I think he can see I don't show much promise as you can see in these dumb pictures.  :'(  The plane went up and stopped flying and then down all of a sudden.  He said I stalled it?  but the motor was still running.  Then he tried to explain all that to me.  I think it's just too complicated.   Needless to say from the last picture the landing didn't go well at all. Also this is our airport in reno and it doesn't show everything like it is there when he takes my mom and me flying.  And these sure don't look like the pictures you guys have up to look at.  Sorry to bore you all but I just don't understand how to do all this.  Thank you for looking anyway.  My name should be No-Fli-girl.  :-[Image

Hi Fli-Girl and welcome to the SimAviation,

I'll be only the first to say that this site will help you overcome all your flying obstacles. I think that after a while of posting questions here you'll be flying fine. Good luck!

Hi there, and welcome at Simviation!

Don't worry, my first flights always ended in a big hole in the ground...

Try to follow the lessons in FS9, they'll explane a lot...

And about the shots? Some folks around here would say this is pretty neat flying - right Ozzy?, the girl almost pulled a hammerhead-stunt... how's that for a first flight...  ;D

Nice first time shots.  When I started Flight Sim, I was a little discouraged, but after I tried some more, it really got easy.  Keep flying, and you'll (hopefully) find it interesting. ;)

Just one suggestion for your shots, zoom in a little more to get the plane to fill up the entire picture.

Keep at it, and good luck! :)

Just keep on trying and follow Omag's advice! If you're in for some stunt flying, ask Ozzy72. ;D

Not bad for first tries Fli-Girl.  You'll get alot of help from everybody here if you want to stick with it. :)  Curious, does your Dad own a plane or rent when you fly?  Has he ever let you take the controls in flight to experience the real feel of control input?  Sorry, I guess that was a dumb question, if he had, you probably wouldn't be here posting based on those screenshots!  I'll bet that landing was a hum-dinger! :o  TEASING, JUST TEASING!!  Hoping to get a laugh from ya and cheer you up a bit.  Keep practicing.  Remember, we all start from the beginning.  At least you had it in the air.

Looks like my flying when i started with FS5 running at 5 fps...

Put the sliders a little bit up if it's possible, brings a lot of nice buildings and trees

Not bad at all Linda ;)
Most of the older members can remember my early attempts with an MX-2 card :-[ But my flying made up for it, and no bridge is safe ;)
Keep 'em comin' 8)

Welcome to SimV, Fli-girl!

Just remember: Flying; whether in real-life or in FS2004 is easy; but like all things it must be learned first. :)

Don't worry - give it a few days and you'll be cruising around with the best of 'em! Just don't give up on it too quick. :) :)
