Omag's Swiss Challenge - again.

'Lo all!

You just know I couldn't let this one go.  ;D

OK; first couple of attempts at landing didn't go too well; so I loaded 'er up and tried again.
The trick to short-landing something big like the 737 isn't to get her as low and slow as possible; trying to pull out of a nose-down dive t 170kias will just stall her. You need to rotate carefully; keeping an eye on your AOA. So here we go:

Approaching the field very cautiously; everything out except spoilers:

Over the edge @ 165kias:

Flaring high to control the AoA:

Hard touchdown at runway's midpoint:

Full on the spoilers and reverse thrust; stand on the toe brakes and hang on!!! ;D

Ran off the end of the runway; coming to a stop about 50m. past:

Whoo!
OK; next runway!!!!
;D ;D ;D

What a landing, done by a real pro. Nice textures as well. Great job.

Wow. I'm glad you got everyone safe! Great shots. What airport is that, by the way?

It's St. Stephans; in Switzerland. Mind; it's not original scenery; it's an addon. All the info (and Omag's original challenge) is here. :D

Nice landing, and nice pics. Im still trying the challenge, its easy getting out of the valley, but i still can't even manage to land a fighter in it.   :-/

'Lo all!

I've been working on this a bit more; it seems to me running off the end of the runway is still not completing the challenge - so I improved my stopping position a little. (After about 25 crashes. ;D)

Cheers!
