A Few Shots From My New Graphics Card...

Postby Triple_7 » Mon Sep 06, 2004 9:17 am

After cashing in a jar of my spare change I found i had a lot more money then I thought was in it.  I ended up deciding it was time for a new card to get rid of my old 64 MB.  I found a GeForce FX 5200 128 MB DDR for $100.  After installing it and messing around in my FS settings i think i have things the way i want them.   Most of my sliders did not change but the quality of everything is amazing after my old card.  So enough of my babbling here is the first set of pics ;D

I decided to do a few circuts around EHAM.

After a couple touch and goes in the CRJ I switched to a KLM 777-200 for a couple.

Decending for final rwy 6.

And last but not least...My usual new equipment curse.  Every panel in FS goes fuzzy after a couple seconds and i get this.   Is there a way to fix it.  Ive tryed uninstalling and reinstalling FS but it didnt help.

Im still in the FS2002 world but other then the panel problem im liking it more and more ;)

That happens from time to time in 2K4, but it renders after a second or two...

Hum.... weird effect on the panel.

I've never seen anything at all like that.

Looks like something to do with texture mip-mapping...... but I don't really know.

The other shots look great.

I also have never seen something like that in regards to  the panel issues, but you have to admit that the new card makes a difference on the outside compared to your earliest shots.

;D

Great job Triple!

I have thought about that before... But I think i'm going to wait till i get everything completely upgraded.  First came the graphics and a Zip drive... Next upgrades im thinking are XP and Ram... So it will be awhile but i will eventualy get something other then freeware...

Try installing new drivers for your FX.
And check your PSU - 250 watts minimum!

Right click on your desktop, goto properties, click on advanced, click on performance & quality settings, try "Quality" and if that don't work, try "High performance" I get this same issue with FS 2002 & Battlefield 1942 to name just two games. I find messing with these settings cures the problem.

Nice snaps anyway!

I used to get a similar problem with FS2002.  If I adjusted (moved) the panel, like on accident while clicking something in the autopilot, my gauges would begin to do weird fuzzy crap like that.  Like they would blur, and then go back to normal and then gradually blur again in a repeated cycle.  Don't recall ever finding a fix for it, and I haven't had any problems with FS2004.
