Toronto to Toronto.....Part 55

Postby ludo62 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 8:56 pm

So i took control of this massive chopper a Bell AB-412 Koala to make an attempt to rescue these people, everybody said that i was stupid to try ::). I had a guy working the winch and a medic with me on the rescue :).
Image
On our way to the location where they were last seen, on top of the large mountain in the distance :o.
Image
Inching closer and closer, with all eyes checking the ground for any movement ::).
Image
Almost there, on the radio there calling me back because of a big storm is coming our way, i'm not going back without them :P.
Image
Found them at last among the trees and high altitude clouds in the mountains, the man at the winch just brought them all on board a bit cold and dehydrated. Back to the airport where the ambulance and family and friends are waiting for our return ;).
Image
On our way back, starting to feel some turbulance from the coming storm  ::).
Image
The airport at last, i'm glad that we found those people they wouldn't have lasted another night exposed to the cruelties of nature  ::).
Image
Successful landing, with a warm welcome from friends and onlookers. It was nice to see all those happy faces. I've decided to stay the night with Davy and have some fun in downtown Capetown. Another happy ending, see you tomorrow when we continue our adventures across the world ;D.
Image
See you all tomorrow. Happy flying

Ludo :)
