Toronto to Toronto......Part 54

Postby ludo62 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 7:32 pm

The oil change and tire change wasn't a problem, but fixing the AP was a different story :( . I know a little bit about electronics but not that much, i guess i'll have to leave it for my friend to fix in Capetown South Africa. Davy and I gave the plane another major clean up (don't tell Davy but i think he's a pig in the plane shhhh). Ready to leave and what do we see a major thunderstorm with all of the necessary ingredients to cause a lot of trouble ::). Here we are taking off :).
Image
What a mess...................oh no there goes the AP again, it's going to be fun flying in this kind of weather ::).
Image
As you can see it's not getting any better yet, the forecast does say that it should get a little better as we go and get some breaks in the cloud once in a while ;D.
Image
Here's one of those breaks (sigh) :), we better enjoy the nice scenery because i can see more bad weather in the distance :o.
Image
Beautiful dunes around South Africa's Capetown WOW!!
Image
Dunes turning into mountains, what a beautiful scene :o
Image
Flying low over Capetown and getting ready to land :D.

Here we are in my hangar to make repairs on the AP, you do really miss it when you don't have it :P. While my friend Kees was fixing the AP, we heard a big bang outside ???. We went outside for a look and saw that an rescue helicopter had made an emergency landing because the pilot refused to fly in this kind of weather :o. When i asked him where he was going he said that he was just on his way to conduct a search and rescue mission for two men and three ladies that apparently got lost in the mountains 24 hours ago. I told the pilot that he needed to think about those people and not about himself, but nothin' seemed to change his mind ::). Then he left the scene :o. After experiencing a situation like this I think I needed to take matters in my own hands and try to save these people myself......................I have to try.........
Image
See the dramatic conclusion of this rescue mission in my next chapter # 55. Happy flying
