very possibly getting a new PC woooo

anyway

if i am i would like a relatively high end computer, one that can run FSX at close to or at full maxed out settings

Now i dont know if thats possible for the money im thinking but i was wondering what would eb possibly with about

dont know what of this lot you need but ill give you everything i saw.

Intel Pentium 4 with SSE2 (  ??? )
CPU 2.60GHz
2.59GHz
512MB of RAM  (at least added RAM needed!!)

NVIDIA GeForce FX5200

Adaptor info :
Bus - AGP 8X
Memory - 128MB

Need a mainboard ID, but without that, it looks like either a 3.2ghz CPU is about the limit, (or overclock the one you have). Overclocking the cpu you have makes sense because  you are not buying a new one for an older PC. An alternative would be to source a faster, second hand cpu cheaply.

RAM cannot be determined accurately without a mainboard ID.

An AGP video card upgrade is possible, but only one of the best on the market will be of any use in FSX, something like a 7800GS or above.

So, basically, if your mainboard can support overclocking, you need some ram and a video card, not too painful.

The video card (if it's AGP) will not be transferable to a newer system as the interface is changed to PCIe now.

so how much am i looking at for that then?
and that gives me 2GB worth of ram?

Now if i was to try and cut that down as mch as possi le, keeping the best results possible and taking as much of the cost off as possible (is this possible at all?) what could i get the cost down to

therefore i could use the rest of the money to maybe some new paywares GE pro or something else for the camera...

Put all of the money into that system, I dont think you can really cut down anymore... oh and a 120 gig hard drive wont be enough, my old Secondary was 120 gigs and it was filled to the brim, you may want to go for a 250, HDDs are cheap these days....

Thats true Cheesegrater, not everyone tends to buy every payware addon for FS9 and try to run every PC game known to the world..... (FS9 was about 45 gigs when the old comp went, and usually around 70)

Yeah, forgot about that... I don't know how much that 120 GB SATA III drive costs, but you should be able get a Seagate 250GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB Barracuda 7200.10 (very good HDD) for about 55 pounds. The 200GB version costs about 45... It all depends on how much space you want, really...
