I have suddenly overcome my fear of heights after many years of sim flying...

...!
Just tried out my Trusty Default Beech Baron to see if it is capable of clearing the Rocky Mountains, (14,000 feet?).
I took it up from sea level to 20,000 ASL at a climb rate of 1000 FPM and a speed of 160 to 180 knots with careful adjustment of the Mixture controls at higher altitudes, (Makes a BIG difference!).
So it took round about 20 minutes to level out at 20,000 feet ASL, and a final, level flight, full throttle speed of 200 knots.
Increasing the rate-of-climb considerably works fine to increase height quickly at the expense of a slower overall climb speed!
So it looks as though my
General Aviation! Default Beechcraft Baron 58 is more than adequate for the job in hand...
