Use Irfanview. It's free. Use it to re size your pics.

http://www.fs-recorder.net/Overall it's pretty good for your first try.

Now as I can see the pic is only 43Kb. The maximum limit is 100Kb so as you save them move the slider at the side of the window as close as you can to 100 without going over 100Kb in size.

I suggest reading some of these.
