okay as you can see im picking up graffiti and im just starting to learn it so here are a few pics taken from my phone during school

Great designs. Do you have your own tag yet? In 7th grade art we had to design a tag (Graffiti Signature) as a sketch project. I'll have to see if I can find it (I know where it is, what I should say is I'll have to see if I can remember to go get it.  ;D ).

You're "picking up graffiti?"  That stuff looks like a 3rd grader got his hands on some giant crayons and spelled his name out.

Seriously, go build a model airplane or form a band and make some tunes...or learn how to make some freeware planes for us SimV boys!!!  Don't destroy public property...we gotta pay for the repairs with taxes and it just depreciates the property values.  Do something rewarding that won't land you in jail or stick you with a ridiculous fine.  Do something that will make you feel good about doing.

The Truck...learned my lesson a long time ago...

A bunch of art students has just decorated a dreary pedestrian tunnel in Worthing with graffiti, with the permission of the local council. I'll get some photos next time I'm in the area.

PS. Of course some of the local graffiti artists couldn't resist adding to it.

PS. Of course some of the local graffiti artists couldn't resist adding to it.

The problem of recognising graffiti as "art", is it legitimises an act of vandalism. Just because 1% of "artists" get permission, does not mean it should be encouraged.

Depends on your definition of graffiti. lunitic's examples are in an exercise book. Is it only true graffiti if it's painted on someone else's property?

Other peoples property, that is what it is all about. Graffiti vandals want us all to see their vandalism and get respect from other like minded vandals, thus making it highly unlikely that they will decorate their bedroom wall or ask permission to do it unlike a handful of art students (who don't want to be expelled).
As for Picasso, well, if I had to choose between a Turner and a Picasso, the Picasso would make a nice tea cosy and cup in hand I could look at the Turner in peace whilst I dunked my biscuit

I just looked up the definition of graffiti & you are quite correct. In that case I agree with you & Truck, don't do it!
