Most countries allow students to begin at around that age... and on an "intro" or "discovery" flight they do indeed let you "take it", within perceived limits. I was a lot older when I took my intro ride, but I knew about as much about flying as any 12-yr-old, and the instructor barely touched the controls. Prior to that I once had the stick of a J3 handed to me in flight when I didn't have a clue what I was doing... it's child's play, really... the basic handling of a light single, that is.

My little friends and I were calling everything "wicked" almost- cough- 40 years ago...didn't know it was back "in".
You can have that, but stay away from "tuff" and "outrageous"... those belong in the dustbin of history...
