The Venice Laguna was beautiful as usual but the weather outside was beginning to worry me.

To cut a long story short, by the time I changed my course to Portoroz I was deep in the clouds with zero visibility, a fairly annoying crosswind and a noticeable turbulence; Portoroz did not clear me to land because it was currently IFR. Since I was very high on fuel I decided to go straight to Losinj in hope the weather would get better, but no such luck. In the end I had to abandon the idea of reaching Losinj and I set off for an alternate site: Pula (on the tip of the Istrian peninsula). I found my way blindly, following vectors given by the tower, and this shot captures the magic moment when I finally came out of the clouds, spotted the airport lights and I realized I would have made it.

This was one flight when I never took my hands off the yoke. Of course in real life I would never have taken off in such uncertain weather!
