Boeing Beluga... the 747LCF

Well I was abit optimistic!
Could not imagine the Beluga and B744LCF were so close though.

The A300 is not a small aircraft to begin with, without checking, I imagine itc camparable to a 757, maybe 767?

And that modification does look huge!! The 747 is just big to begin with  ;)

Imageine using a A380 as a transporter...  ;)

bigger than the 757 for sure.
Unlike the 757, the A300 is a double aisle airliner to begin with.
But compared to a Jumbo the A300 looks rather small. The photo of a 777 (Triple 7)and A300 in the same holding pattern over London a few months ago comes to mind...

I imagine so. Airbus have been doing it for years, and when scaled against the total cost of an aircraft, the cost of air transportation is probably wuite favourable given the alternatives... A lot quicker too.

Remember that Airbus also uses the Beluga to transport parts for nearly all of its other aircraft. This LCF will ONLY be used for the 787, if im not mistaken, so the cost has a slightly larger inpact on the 787 project.
