Don't get me started on Florida's laws, or this will become very political very quick. I'm trying very hard to show restraint here.
Dunno whether or not I'll ever own a gun-I'm very, very good at shooting them though. I was a good range shooter and when we did trap shooting in Aspen a month ago, I was very good at it.
In the end though, the statistics behind how many homeowners who try to defend their homes with a gun end up dead are a bit too much-I mean, what the hell is an AK gonna do? You're gonna go full auto in your living room?

(not to mention it's too big for proper CQB, you want a sub or a pistol for that)
When defending your home from a single burgalar, the amount of firepower doesn't matter-actually, the less the better (I mean honestly, you're going to shoot up your house?). The only thing that matters is knowing how to use it-which your average homeowner with a half dozen rifles and pistols doesn't.
When the Russian/Canadian/Osamian paratroopers land on your roof, whip out the AK. For Joe-can;t-get-a-job-so-he-steals, it's absolutely ridiculous to meet him with that much firepower-again, like I said before, an AK is too big.
Do have an airsoft Beretta though.
