Behind our backs..

Postby Steve M » Mon Apr 05, 2010 5:41 pm

This pops up. If you live in the USA type in your name and see how much info they have dredged up on you or your relatives. If you are on here you can remove yourself. I live in Canada, but quite a few of my family were here.

Where you live, personal photo's, addresses, phone numbers, credit ratings, etc..

If you have moved in the last year you likely won't be there.
It's a bit disturbing though.    ;)

I'm in there, sort of.  ::)

I have no idea who the people are shown in "my" pictures... ;D

I'm not African-American, as far as I know... ;D

They were off on the build-date of my home by, oh, about 100 years...  :D

Well it found me at an old address.

Apparently I enjoy knitting, and taking strolls, have young grandchildren (I need to talk to my 11 year old daughter), and enjoy gardening (I have a good crop of weeds coming in already, I will post full color pictures later).

It got a few other details flat out wrong, but I will leave it at that.

I checked all my relatives in the USA out. A lot of the information is incorrect. About the only things that were correct were the addresses and even one of those was wrong, unless I have just learnt that my aunt now lives with my cousin (my cousin would stand in front of an express train before that ever happens), my uncle has a new wife and that he works in the clerical industry......well, I suppose that as a 757 captain he does have a huge amount of paperwork to do ;D ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I suspect that if you fill in your name in the Search Box, and run the program, it confirms that you are active (still alive), and eager to be put on the list of Citizens, (and Spam E-Mail, etc), whether you wish it, or not.
Rather like clicking on an Internet Site

By going there it appears (if Wiki is correct) that they automatically then harverst your email address........and then sell it to spammers.  So in order to to go check yourself out on there ....... I'd create a "crap" free account somewhere to log in and then fix the privacy stuff.  Then don't ever use that account again.

Quite the same...
about the only thing they have accurate is my name and gender; they have me residing in my former "area" but the length of time
is much too short, officially or otherwise (plus I maintained residency even while away). Most of it is errant.

I looked at my parents again and it says our house value is over $1M, which I know isn't true, especially because they say the median of the neighborhood is 260k.
