You can set it up to save a screenshot in any size you want, also what file type, in any folder you specify, just by pressing PrintScreen or any shortcut key you want, and it also works in any game or application. ;)

Yes I agree on just resizing as most pics on a forum is to illustrate a particular point and should not be seen as a type of quality.... but you always get the smart alec who spams your thread about something that has nothing to do with the pic in the first place
All I can suggest is to start at the display's native res (and an appropriate refresh frequency) and see if you like that. Usually, the native res at a medium or default frequency looks the best... but it's subjective.
If you are undecided, would you decide which looks best based on how others set their displays?
