Welcome to FS9!

I doubt whether any scenery or repaints From FSX will work unless they were developed for FS9 originaly. No woryy though, there are THOUSANDS more available fr FS9 than FSX anyway and there are still new ones every week. FS9 isn't dead yet!

Search the main SimV site or others like AVSIM.

Before adding extras, make sure you have the FS9 patch installed. It may have it already, hold your mouse over the FS9.exe and see if it says 9.0 or 9.1.

My personal recomendations are,

Boston Logan Int airport

The classic airliners from DMFlightsim.com

Take your time and search addons whenever. You will come across extreamly good aircraft and scenery.

NO Never do that. You might miss some files and it will be even harder to find them and delete them.  ;)

No you can do that...I've done it...I just cleaned out my registry and and deleted the FS9 folder from AppData...I did that as a last resort though ;) ;)

Ok, Microsoft Chat customer support helped me out  :D FSX goin' byebye now :D:D You are right, you are not supposed to delete it directly you must remove it from windows installer first. And a LOT of other steps that I must complete to COMPLETELY remove FSX.

I installed FS9. 20+FPS. Testing with graphics etc. (20+FPS) (20+FPS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS). Ok, well, I've encountered a few issues I'm hoping someone can help me with:
1. (Scenery\cities\Phoenix\SCENERY) in scenery Area .029 not found. Got an error while installing and ignored. When I start up FS9 it says "(Scenery\cities\Phoenix\SCENERY) in scenery Area .029 not found." How do I fix this?
2. The water textures are....BAD. No waves, nothing. Just a blob of bright blue.
3. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is located here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes) any clue why? Do you think I need to uninstall and reinstall FS9?
PS Oh, all the textures are (land) are chunky.

WOW! Well, first thing's first I guess. The "scenery not found" is a problem that will keep cropping up if you don't take care of it, and since FS2004 installed in the directory it did, you may wish to try to uninstall it, then reinstall it. (This will probably be a pain in the butt, but it may be worth it, you decide) You could browse the intall disks for the missing scenery files, but you still have the incorrect intall location to deal with. (Not real sure why it did that.)

Here's what I would do: (mind you, this is only a suggestion, you may want to wait for a second opinion before you do anything.)
1) Uninstall FS2004
2) Navigate to your program files, and DELETE the folder called "Microsoft Games". This should be safe to do now that both FSX AND FS2004 are uninstalled. (assuming you have NO OTHER MICROSOFT GAMES IN THAT FOLDER!)
3) MAKE SURE your FS2004 disks are clean and scratch free. This is most likely why the Phoenix scenery didn't install in the first place.
4) Re-install FS2004. Since you deleted the old "Microsoft Games" folder, FS2004 will make a new one and the new installation should be in the correct place.

Hopefully, that will take care of any problems you are having.

Also, 20 FPS isn't too bad for FS2004, but I wouldn't get too excited about it just yet though. I believe the reason your scenery looked so poor, was because the default simulator display settings were set low. Frame-rates will quickly drop as more eyecandy is turned on.

You most likely had that directory saved from an Auto-Installed plane in FSX ;)

Only explanation I can think of.

Also, make sure that you do in fact increase your settings if you haven't already. My PC can get 70+... if I set everything to minimum. With everything maxed, I get around 20 over a big city.

As for replacement water textures, try grabbing Real Environment Pro from Avsim. Grab FS Sky World while you're there, too ;)
