OK lads... don't shoot me down in flames :)
How about putting in to FS the concept of money?
How about having to pay landing fees, that 1000 hour
service that's due soon and, oh yes, the plane itself and any upgrades!

Income could be earned by carrying cargo / passenger's on jobs advertised at your current airport?? Can we kick some ideas around???
regards...

As long as you turn it off. I stopped playing on Sim City for that exact reason.

OK,

1. YES!!! Better frame rates!
2. How about a Helo Package? Publish a fixed wing version with one or two helos like they do now but another package with all helos and one or two welded wing? But at least add a Bell 206 or a Sikorsky H-60.
3. Better scenery, in this day and ages of satellite imagery and laser mapping it should be more realistic. I don't expect cars on the highways but a major freeway like I-25 or I-70 (they are in Colorado) should be more than a fuzzy tan stripe across the ground. So better ground scenery like more buildings and better roads and Highways.
4. A default Cessna Skymaster and Adam Aircraft's Carbonaero for us who love the tandem engine AC.

Oh and one more thing,

Have M$ buy or add VATSim so we can fly, file flight plans and have voice communication over the web with only one program!

Half-life and Coutnerstrike have no problem with this concept so why not M$FS?

No more addidng 4 other programs and haveing them all running. Opening and closing windows and no more hitting the 1 key to talk to the VATC and killing your engines (It happend to me more than once folks).

I think they should DEFINITLY Add a new physics engine!
And i think they should add a career mode

Do Microsoft read this forum?

9. Quite dumbing things down.  Forget youth appeal.  Even as is, most of the sub 20 year olds I know that have tried FS lost patience with it anyway and it ended up collecting dust in their software shelves even as dumbed down as it is.  Appeal  to the hardcores.  We are the ones driving the franchise anyway.

Hey now, I've been playing FS since I was 11! :)

I've never grown tired of it but it wasn't until I turned 20 when I actually took the time to learn about it instead of firing up the default 737,  taking a run around NYC at a low-altitude,  and then landing at JFK at 260 knots with no flaps and no spoilers.   ;D

My FS2006 List:

1- I don't fly multiplayer (never really tried learning how to) but it'd be cool for two pilots to be abe to fly the same plane, pilot & copilot.  That'd add to realism.

2-  More precipitation options.  Hail, sleet, etc.

3-  Realistic crashes, not ones that stop the game all of a sudden.

4- FMCs.  Generic ones, at least.

5--  Bring back a good, solid, concorde.

6- User ATC- you control the airways type of thing.

7- Some sort of career logging, where you can view all of your flights, aircraft used, number of accidents you've had, etc.

8- Passengers in the plane (even if they're 2d)

9- Water salutes for the first time you run a new aircraft.

10- realisic ower views.

11- the ability to make your own variants of aircrat, so long as they're flyable-- such as making...a boeing "600"  (i dunno the thought just popped into my head  ;D and it'd be kind've fun)

12- a virtual FO.

hmm, that's about it. :)

If it hasn't been mentioned already , things like heat shimmer from jets and hot runways, wing vortices, exhaust flare at night etc.

Of course weather and scenery improvements too ( although the real time weather is pretty good already).

They also need to go through the airports and sort out the inaccurate locations

MS will have to bear in mind though that all extras tend to be frame rate hungry

Hi, I am relatively new to the flightsim community, and very new to this website.  I have seen the poll results, and they seem to lean heavily toward advancements in the graphics area.  I have a new Dimension XPS (Dell), including the PCIE Radeon X800, and I can say that the graphics capabilities are definitely cutting edge; you would have to try the hardware in order to realize that.  The game is ready to take advantage of whatever you have, in my opinion.  My suggestion for FS 2006 is stay the course.....but.....add more ground activity, more variety of aircraft (3 big irons? Please....even the jets that were flawed should be included, this IS a "history" of flight, correct?) anda virtual airline you can play from within the game itself....as opposed to PAYING for time online.  Oh, I don't wan't to seem insensitive in any way, shape, or form, but;  a LOT more realism during a crash or slideout would be appreciated; if I did the best I could to save the aircraft and failed, I would rather not have my adrenaline shift to undying laughter as I realize I am sticking out of the ground at a 90 degree angle in my Boeing triple seven..........maybe it should have just cut to black...........thank you.

Some people want a new physics model. But as most people don't know how the current one works how would they figure out how a new one would work.

Anyway why ask for shiney runways then the physics model treats them as GRASS STRIPS with a coefficient of friction of about 0.15 when concrete or tarmac should be 0.03 to 0.05.

This makes takeoff performance so bad that the engines have to be altered to correct for this.

Then the friction should also vary with the surface weather conditions.

I think the basic faults should be fixed first rather that adding new half working features. And this assumes the rumour that MSFS 2004 will be the last consumer version is untrue.

Anamitra Dasgupta, male, 36, India, sends his greetings to everyone.

This is what should feature in Flight Simulator 2006:-

(1). Great Airplanes of the World, such as:-

(a). The Lockheed Constellation
(b). The Concorde
(c). The Lockheed Electra
(d). The F-14 Tomcat
(e). The Mig-29/25/27
(f).  The Sukhoi 30 K
(g). The SR-71 Blackbird
(h). The Airbus A-300 Series
(i).  The MD-11 & DC-10 Series
(j). The P-51 Mustang & Similar warbirds of the yesteryears.
(k). The DC-4 & 6
(L). The Flying Fortress & Stratofortress.

The above is, of course, in addition to whatever aircrafts that do exist presently in the Flight Simulator 2004.

AUTHENTICALLY AND REALISTICALLY DESIGNED / CREATED FLIGHT ADVENTURES FOR THE ABOVE MUST BE INCLUDED.

Granted that this is a tall order, but since Microsoft
started this trend of the Flight Simulator over the years, of improved versions with such a fan following, they cannot affors to rest on their laurels; they must always strive to outreach themselves.

Some Examples:

The Aircraft from "Project Opensky" are created better than the same ones' as designed by Microsoft. Microsoft should try to make the experience of flying with the simulator as realistic as possible, i.e., wing views, interior views, cabin announcements, co-pilot callouts, etc. The cockpits need work: The cockpits as developed by private developers have a "personal and realistic" touch about them; for all the snaziness, this "touch" of visual realism and involvement is sadly lacking in Microsoft's undoubted efforts to produce and provide the best.

The ATC is interactive, no doubt. But it is in no way a reflection of what goes on in true life. Flight Simulator 2006 must solve the ATC issue; the ATC must be "true life situations" got within reach of the simulator pilot to experience.

Graphics: May be improved, frame-rates still have loads of issues; these must be fixed, amongst other things which all of us know.

The quality, quantity, feel and conditions of sound are to be improved. Outside sounds of the aircraft are seriously unreal. Have you ever heard a Turbofan engine on idle? It is enough the send shivers into your soul. This must, must find reflection in the sounds of Flight Simulator 2006. At the moment, I refuse to believe it when the sounds of the 737 are shared by the 747, and in full power these sound like a contented post-orgasmic sigh. I cannot live with that, and so will my fellow fans of Flight Simulator agree most emphatically.

In addition, the sounds of the Turboprops too are a bit obsessive. They sound like a schizophrenic mosquito of the Bengal swamps. This must stop! All aircraft sounds need a serious and sincere review. This is an absolute necessity.

As for weather, I have loads of issues, which are beyond the scope of this document, therefore, to make a long story short: There cannot be heavy rain and sunlight at the same time; that is the case in my country. I have no idea how it is in Seattle. There must be a haze during heavy snowfall. The "winter-wonderland" must reflect an underlaying threat of a weather that can kill people. Presently, one is not "terrorised" by the weather. These must be incorporated. The designers of the Flight Simulator would do good to see the contents of this Forum, and meet with all the good people who know more of aircraft design, response, flight charecteristics and every aspects of weather and its behaviour that anyone else.

This, is the problem: Flight Simulator is designed by "Software Engineers". Not lovers of flying, at least, not the majority. The consultation by the King Flying School and all that is fine, but "reality" as seen by the diversity of flyiers and people cannot be gained through the consultation of ONE high profile flight school/ No way!

I believe I have gone on for long enough; accept then, my new friends, my greetings and my warm wishes. Keep flying, and Godspeed!

[glb]TEXT[/glb]New Physics!

Seriously The pause when you crash is really irratating
But i saw a mod on www.download.com for a realistic crash mod
and also i think they should add diffent class catergorys like
if you like milatary jets then have some sort of challenges
(long ones please not those short ones) and if you like gliders then you know what im talkling about

Oh and have engine fires and real problems like trim failure
because its there but it never happens  ???
