The big, toothed, thumb-wheel on a CH Yoke shouldn't be used at all, once set. It isn't program-able in XP or the sim. If you can get full deflection whilst calibrating (via XP or the sim (same thing, I think)), just leave it be. If, for some reason you cannot get full elevator deflection (either way) whilst calibrating.. THEN use the thumb-wheel to get in range, and re-calibrate.
It's just a rough, mechanical, reference point adjustment; not meant to resemble any type of elevator trim..
