Postby jordonj » Mon Oct 25, 2004 7:30 pm

All the way to the max, and 20+ FPS everytime! :-)

Realism setting is on max, though "aircraft stress causes damage" is turned off, due to the fast change of windspeed when flying in real world weather.

In a matter of secs. the wind can go from a 70kt tailwind to a 55kt HEADwind, you can imagine what kind of impact that has on the aircraft  :)

Best setting I've found is about a click below max. That seems to make the Cessna fly about like the real ones do. Don't know about other planes but I've flown Cessnas IRL and the maximum setting seems a little twitchy.

Depends on what I'm flying ........ I turn off stress when I'm flying the military jets so I can get the high Gs. I fiddle with the other settings as necessary especially with props on take off.

cheers

.....All the way is good for your EGO, but I "learn" new aircraft on easy and gradually wind it up.......I find sight seeing trips better on easy too ;D

Max realism all the way. If I can't find a way to keep the aircraft in the air while sight seeing, I need to practice more, or use another method.

I wen't flying in a Cessna 150 (real) here in Anchorage with a flight instructor, just for a joy flight. He sat right seat cause he was so used to it. I didn't know I'd be flying the plane half the time, but I did. He was impressed with me cause I held the aircraft within 10 ft of the altitude he was giving me, and within 2 degrees heading. This was the first time I ever had full control of a real aircraft. I did coordinated turns, I flew up a valley and back, made the approach, but I let him land. I wasn't comfortable with that yet.

Thats why I fly realism maxed, my next certificate will be a pilots license (as I have an A&P currently).

But when stunting, I turn off the stresses (The Waco, Airhead Bellanca Decathalon, and Bill Lyon's Travel Air are the only planes I can't seem to make the wings come off...)  Happens to me a lot in the Tomcat as well...:P

My settings are at 98% I have stress turned on. I locked my frame rates at 40 and get anywhere from 35 to 39 FPS . But my system is not connected to the internet nor do I have any antivirus program running in the back ground. I also have all of the other slides set to max.

Crashes on......even when online
Stress detected.. on

Failures.. on
Real world weather almost every flight

Dont know how to measure frame rates but I have no complaints.

Settings are for both planes and helos
