737 Experience Panel

Postby Vagrant » Tue Apr 26, 2005 8:58 am

I have the Sky Decks 737NG panel, is there any way I can get this panel to work in the VC? The panel is a great panel and the moach 737 experience model is fantantic, any advice I would appreciate it, thanks.

Probably not as the VC has to do with the model, whereas the panel is just  a bitmap with script thrown in (much like a web page).

you could replace the gauges in the VC with those in this panel of yours with some very simple panel.cgf editing ;)

when you install the panel, do not delete the original panel .cfg file, do this:

put the original panel.cfg somewhere safe

install your panel to the pane folder, let it overwrite whatever necessary (you may want to backup the old gauges first)

open the new panel.cfg

now, open the OLD panel.cfg

copy the [VCockpit] sections from the old file and paste them to the bottom of the new file (this way, the gauges won't dissapear from the DVC)

now note the list of gauges in the sections you've copied

if you scroll to the top of the file you'll find a list of the gauges of the new panel

find the gauges that correspond to the ones in the vcockpit list you've copied and replace them with the new ones
i.e. if you want the new HSI gauge to be displayed in the VC, copy its name from it's entry in the new panel's list and  put it in the old HSI gauge entry in the Vcockpit list :)

DO NOT change the position values of the gauges (those 4 numbers after the gauge name) or the gauge numbers, (the "gauge01="number befor the name)  just the name of the gauges located between those two ;)

hope this helps, glad to hear you like my plane :)

c ya

Are you using the proper key sequence?:

Press and release (do not hold down) the E key, then the 1, then the 2.

i have the same problem, not just with the experience but with all multi-engine aircraft

when i try to use one engine separately i cannot switch back to using all engines at once :P

seems to be an FS glitch...

does anyone know how to fix it?

I was able to get the Sky Decks gauges to populate on the VC. Moach should get up with the Sky Decks folks because it makes the word EXPERIENCE come out in all capital letters!
