A Question for My Fellow Image Posters!!

Postby Fly2e » Tue Jul 27, 2004 10:28 am

Ever since I joined Simviation, I have always posted all my shots in the Freeware forum, thus I only had Freeware products to display! I very rarely visited the Payware Screenshot Forum due to not being familiar with Payware and I have to admit, I was a bit turned off by Payware. I had the attitude of,

My vote was 'no'. It was the nearest option. 'Sometimes' would be an exaggeration, but 'no' would be closer. I would have liked the option: "Very rarely".
I actually thought the Payware forum was a waste of time. What's wrong with telling people this is payware if they ask? I'd prefer to have my payware shoots (if I had payware) in the freeware forum simply cuz they would have more views and comments.
I don't know about anyone else. ::)

Hi Dave,

I know this has been much discussed before & it'll be interesting to see the results of this.

I actually do visit the Payware Shots forum as much as I visit the Freeware one, but I hardly ever comment. Generally I don't post just to say "Nice shots" any more, although I do sometimes. And because I'm not likely to be buying any payware, what else can I say in a reply? So I just enjoy the shots (I must say your latest are amazing) and leave it at that.

Cheers,

Jon 8)

My vote was " sometimes " . I love the payware shots , but i don't visit the payware forum that often because the pics are so beautiful it hurts that i can't have them . With a family of 5 it's hard to afford  :(. Keep flying  :)

Dave:

I view them both equally.  A shot is a shot regardless of price and I want to make sure that those who take the time and effort to display their work get recognized.

I used to post a lot of mixed payware/freeware shots. I had loads of payware aircraft in CFS2 and some half decent scenery. I think it was a shame to split the forums but I seem to remember there was some call for it so that was that. I rarely veiw the payware section these days and I also think posting mixed freeware/payware shots should be allowed in the freeware forum.

It does the person and the post no harm in having it mixed does it? ::) Whats the problem with mixing them, they are all screenshots?
It makes things easier to have them together anyway. Easier for the mods to handle, less hassle for those looking in both.  ::)

Maybe we could put an indicator (like [FW] for freeware [PW] for payware and [ED] for edited) into every new thread's title?
