Junkers Ju 187

Postby lemoncat » Sat Jul 17, 2004 1:03 pm

another slightly exotic craft on the germans list towards the end of the war but not quit making it..but a great idea to have a rotating tail to give the gunner a clear view...
another splendid craft from mr ito.
available at  nonodes. :) :)

I didnt read  the blurb properly.....
I looked at that second shot and thought...... hey ho lemoncats doing an ozzy.... Then I thought nooooo the picture is upside down...... It took me 3 attempts to realise that the tail was twisted 180.

That must really screw up the handling when its rotating :o :o

How do you manage to find all these unusual birds Lemon?

great shots as usual
cheers

Looks like a Il-10 merged with a Stuka

The 187 was designed as a replacement for the Stuka, only one prototype was built, the project was scrapped because the performance gains were minor.
The revolving tail was so the gunner had a clear shot without doing what Sir Sean Connery did in Indian Jones And The Last Crusade ;D ;D ;D

Great fun if they forgot to reverse the elevator and rudder.

Super shots Lemoncat.
