I bought a new graphics card today and have been fiddling ... I've had FS9 for some time but have never been able to  use it ....  Untill today.

Nothing special this lot... but its getting there ... and with a few more tweeks I will hopefully be able to produce better ... NUFF text ... tell me what ya think of the pics ... any hints and tips most welcome.

Im getting about 11 FPS (Locked at 12) which I dont think is bad for the specs of my system... nothings maxed out and if I add too much cloud then framerates drop dramatically.
Im under no illusion that I'm gonna get anything like the shots that some of you guys get ...  but any help would be appreciated ...

A tip, use the FPS friendly clouds from FSW.
Okay they doesn't look as good as the default ones, but on the other hand FPS will increase dramaticly.

I use them even though I got an Athlon 64 3200+/Radeon 9800XT setup. But IMHO, the default clouds are FPS hogs and waste waay too much firepower from your rig.

I recomend Bill Lyon's water effects. Nothing to do with preformance but at least the water won't look like Jello.

There's also a hugh tweak guide for FS9 that was posted on the Avsim forums. You might find it useful. I don't have the link but you can access it by clicking "MS Flight Simulator General Discussion" and then going into the "MS Flight Simulator Hardware Discussion" subtopic. It's right at the top.
