pete, if you have aces, you have the mk. V variants. but the new patch just released adds the spit mk. IX.

and back to the diffinitive stabilizer conversation.  
 the vertical stabilizer is what the rudder is attached to and the elevator is attached to the horizontal stabilizer.

sort of confusing because it's not named for the plane it stabilizes but rather the plane it exists in.

Maybe you've just read my post wrong.

I said that e.g. He-111s could still return without vertical stabilizer (thus without rudder),but as well without one horizontal stabilizer (thus without one elevator).
