Palm Springs - Welcome to the Desert

Postby YodaNYC » Sat May 22, 2004 4:42 pm

Every year my wife and I go to visit her family in Palm Springs, CA.  I have always heard that this is a tricky approcah in a jet due to the mountainous terrain (makes for a very steep/quick descent) and tricky winds.  Decided to have a go and here is the result...

On final to  31L...I think I can see Bob Hope's house up there on the mountain... Applying a bit of speedbrakes to slow down from the steep descent.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Palm Springs, California where the current temperature is 110 degrees fahrenheit.
