Alaskan Vacation

Postby Fly2e » Fri Jul 25, 2003 11:37 am

I turned The Robin to the North through the canyon towards Crooked Lake. Some of the views were spectacular. Can't stop the progress of technology though,..even in these beautiful places.
look out for the cell tower!!

As I motored through the canyon, the walls of this ravine started to feel as if they were closing in on me............
They were!!!!!
Time to Pull Up!!!

After pulling back on the stick and bringing The Robin out of the canyon, I noticed the sun was starting to set. I really need to get a move on. Crooked Lake was a VFR appraoch.....and I don't even know what it looks like! Just following my GPS and some charts!
As I floated along, I did stop to take it all in.

My view to The West over my wing.

Some nice scenery along with a very deep ravine. Engine don't fail me now!!!

There it was,.Crooked Lake Aviation Park. Thank God for the lights on the antenna or I might have flown right over it!

I Started my landing procedures as my mind raced with excitement. I was finally here.

Before I land this thing....maybe I should do a fly-bye to get a visual.....
I was looking foward to lighting a fire, sipping some coffee, and reflecting on the days events.
